Munich, Germany, [September 24, 2018]— AUDI AG, a leading manufacturer of premium automobiles, and Valtech GmbH, a digital transformation services provider, today announce the formation of a new joint venture. The company will develop digital solutions for multiple aspects of connected cars.

The company, headquartered in Munich and called Valtech Mobility GmbH, will focus on optimizing the technology in automobiles, software architecture and digital experience design. The aim is to build connectivity and connected services for the car of the future and extending Audi’s leadership in automotive innovation.

“Digital innovation and mobility are unlocking remarkable possibilities for automotive makers as they seek to enhance drivers’ experiences and become more integrated with the connected world,” said Sebastian Lombardo, chairman and CEO of Valtech. “We are excited to partner with Audi as they embrace this digital transformation and delight drivers with new experiences and technologies.”

“Digital transformation and connectivity are of crucial importance to the mobility of the future,” stated Dr. Thomas M. Müller, Head of Electric/Electronics and CarIT at Audi. “By establishing this joint venture, we are sustainably expanding our partner network and strengthening our competence in agile software development.”

The result of this partnership is the creation of intuitive, innovative digital solutions that offer clear additional value through careful, deliberate design from user interaction to vehicle integration. Big Data, E-mobility, Autonomous Driving and Connected Platforms will be core fields, which will yield original products, services and digital business models in the area of mobility.

The partners of Valtech Mobility GmbH are Valtech GmbH and Audi Electronics Venture, a subsidiary of AUDI AG. “Design and implementation come from a single source – from user interaction to vehicle integration,” Peters added. “These are the essential conditions that offer consumers a memorable and distinctive automotive experience.”

“With electric mobility and autonomous driving, connectivity has become a core component of the automobile,” Ivanov explained. “Value chains are shifting in the automotive industry, requiring new integrated models of cooperation between technology providers and car manufacturers.”

AUDI AG and Valtech first partnered in the area of vehicle connectivity in 2009. With the newly established joint venture the successful partnership will be expanded in the coming years.
